If you're looking for an Open Source Registry Cleaner or just an alternative to CCleaner then perhaps you should check out Little Registry Cleaner.
It's basically a deep registry cleaner which is extremely fast & will produce a log in the form of a text file which will show you everything which needs fixing. You've also got additional options such as being able to replace any registry entries that you have previously removed.

Google Chrome Frame
Today I was reading this blog & came across this post.
It mentions a plugin for Internet Explorer which can be downloaded here.
The plugin is supposed to increase the speed that IE can render webpages at but I haven't got around to trying it yet.

Panda3D - Free 3D Engine
I came across this thread on the Ubuntu forum today. It had originally been started way back in 2005 but recently someone had added a post to it.
Panda3D is a 3D engine for Python & it looks very promising, I haven't had time to try it out yet. But I'll post again when I've tried some of the examples.
