Have you recently tried to install the ruby-opengl gem for Windows using gem update only for it to fail with a cryptic error message like the following..?
'cl' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
If you have, just download the gem from here & install it manually.

Thanks for this tip. I had the exact same problem and once I installed this version of the gem I was able to gem update all my other gems.
